The Ampersand International Arts Festival, in partnership with W&M Libraries and the Reeder Media Center, is proud to host the 19th Annual 24 Speed competition!
Over the course of 24 hours, teams of W&M students will race against the clock to write, film, and edit short films including elements revealed at the contest kick-off ceremony. Awards will go to the top films as judged by a jury of W&M faculty, alumni, and community members.
The 2022 contest will kick off at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 1. To sign up, current students and alumni should visit the main 24 Speed website to check out further details on this year’s event and register to compete.
The 24 Speed films will be screened in two free events, one for the shorts created by current W&M students, and another for those created by alumni. These events are free and unticketed.
The student screening will take place at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 5 at the AMPitheatre.
The alumni screening will take place at 10:00 PM on Saturday, April 9 in Tucker Theater.
Past 24 Speed short films are available for viewing on the W&M Libraries YouTube channel.
