Arab Arts Gala: An Evening of Film, Music, & Dance

Sirens follows the emotional journey of Lilas and Sherry, guitarists of the Middle East’s first all-female metal band, as they wrestle with friendship, sexuality, and destruction. Tickets for this film are only available for purchase online here, and will not be sold at the door. 

This program features a performance by the WM Middle Eastern Music Ensemble featuring Nicole LeCorgne and Leah Glenn’s Modern IV Barefoot Dancers.

Please note, attendees will be asked to leave the theater during the intermission between the film screening and live performance. 

Barksdale Treble Chorus Spring Performance

Founded in 1923, William & Mary Barksdale Treble Chorus continues to bring joy and music to Williamsburg. The ensemble consists of approximately 50 undergraduate women of a wide variety of interests and majors. COLORS Gallery Opening

COLORS is a collaborative show of art by photographer Kathy Hornsby and painter Connie Desaulniers. These two longtime friends share their love of color saturation in their art forms. Florals that are abstracted by water and light embody Hornsby’s ethereal “Flower Disarrangement” photographic series. Desaulniers’ fanciful paintings conjure stories designed to spark the viewer’s imagination.

Edgar Degas – The Private Impressionist: Works on Paper by the Artist and His Circle

This extraordinary exhibition features works by the celebrated artist and his peers, providing an in-depth examination into Degas’ methods and techniques. Muscarelle Explorations: Degas includes lectures, live drawing workshops, a concert, a film screening, and a book club discussion. This series will give participants a special insight into the exhibition Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist and deepen their understanding of this enigmatic artist.

Exhibit admission during the festival is included with any festival pass; individual tickets are available for direct purchase at the Muscarelle.

Roberto Jamora – Original Print Work

As part of his Asian Centennial Distinguished Fine Arts Fellowship, Roberto Jamora created an original abstract print of which 50 exclusive copies will be made available for purchase. Unveiling of these works will take place April 8th.

A student thesis musical production by Paul Hardin ‘22. Nicolas du Vernay is an aspiring playwright, commissioned by the King to direct a cast of blue-blooded players during the Royal Wedding celebrations at Versailles. Leonor is a Spanish princess, arranged to be married to the philandering French Dauphin, Louis. Despite barriers of class and questions of honor, sparks fly between the two unlikely lovers in fabulous French fashion in this new musical inspired by the works of Corneille, Moliere, and Perrault.
